Creating a sustainable perspective for the Urals

A partnership conference on sustainability in the Ural region in Russia.

The Ural region in Russia is facing many problems related to health, safety, economic development and the environment. There is an urgent need for creating a sustainable future perspective. The pursuit of sustainable development requires the commitment and dedication of governments, industry, NGOs and scientists.

Women in Europe for Common Future (WECF) and the Greening of Industry Network (GIN) together are offering to facilitate a process through which relevant partners can jointly change the course of current developments and create a sustainabele future. On 9 - 13 october 2002 WECF and its local NGO partners in Russia organizied an international conference "Creating Sustainable Perspectives for the Urals".
