MEPs: Keep health and environmental protection at the heart of EU Chemicals Policy (REACH)
Members of the European Parliament's Environment and Public Health Committee (ENVI) need to ensure and effective REACH

A coalition of women's, health and environmental NGOs asks the members
of the ENVI to support amendments that will ensure a strong REACH.
These
amendments will help
to ensure basic safety information on 30.000 substances under REACH
will be generated and the most dangerous chemicals will be
substituted by safer alternatives. What we don't need now is going back
to the status quo and a "don't ask, don't tell" policy when it comes to
chemicals. This is not only dangerous for human health and the
environment but also for the competitiveness of the chemicals industry.
