WECF director speaks at Paris Appeal Cancer Congress, 9. November 2006, Paris
Health risks of hazardous chemicals for women and children
05.10.2006 |Sascha Gabizon
The congress aims to highlight the some of the latest scientific evidence on the environment’s impact on our health, as well as provide a discussion forum on policy solutions needed to make progress in reducing these health effects. A Memorandum outlining recommendations from ARTAC’s scientific committees will also be presented during the Congress.
Two of HEAL members will be speaking in the panel sessions: Diana Ward, from UK Breast Cancer, and Sascha Gabizon from Women in Europe for a Common Future. HEAL Executive Director Genon Jensen will chair the session on Protecting Pregnancy and Children’s Health.
The programme and registration form can be downloaded here.
We believe the conference will be a great opportunity to hear from the scientific community and other stakeholders on how society might move towards a more sustainable chemicals policy, particularly as it will take place just prior to the EU Chemicals policy vote in the European Parliament on 14 November. It will also be a time for you to meet our colleagues from the Collaborative on Health and Environment, with whom we have recently agreed a strategic partnership. We would be glad to see many of you there and we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
The Health and Environment Alliance will have a stand at the conference, and will be able to display relevant materials from our membership.
