Dutch NGOs concerned about REACH position EU member states

NGOs want hazardous chemicals in consumer products to be substituted

The Dutch NGOs urge Dutch Members of European Parliament (MEPs)to reaffirm their support for the substitution principle, during the second reading. If this does not happen REACH will fail to protect people and the environment against dangerous chemicals.

De NGOs dringen erop aan dat Nederlandse Europarlementariers tijdens de tweede lezing van REACH het substitutiebeginsel herbevestigen. Als dit niet gebeurt, zal REACH mens en milieu onvoldoende kunnen beschermen tegen gevaarlijke stoffen.

WECF en Nederlandse partner NGOs hebben hierover op 5 juli 2006 een brief aan Nederlandse leden van het Europees Parlement geschreven.
