The Black Sea Women's Club was founded in 2007 by Ukrainian women – NGOs leaders from Danube, Dniester and Dnipro rivers concerned about environmental problems of Black Sea. It is a regional network of environmental NGOs from rivers falling into Black Sea and women-leader oriented to protection of water resources and promotion the ecosystem approaches & gender balance.

The goal of the Black Sea Women’s Club is the protection of water resources and sustainable development of the Black Sea region.

Recently the organization has been active on creation and development of infrastructure for environmental tourism and develops environmental labeling for the Black Sea beaches.

The director of the organization is Svitlana Slesarenok. She is also Chair of a regional network of environmental NGO’s from main rivers falling into Black Sea. Within this network women leaders are oriented towards the protection of water recourses and promotion of ecosystems approaches, and towards gender balance in sustainable development of the Black Sea region.
