WECF’s partner AT Uganda teaches farmers to conserve their harvest

WECF’s EWA programme featured in newspaper Daily Monitor

AT Uganda, a non-governmental organization that teaches agricultural conservation, has saved farmers from drought by teaching them conservation farming techniques such as mulching. One of the local families says that conservation farming has boosted their productivity and incomes, and improved their land use. Where the harvest used to be unsure because of possible drought, conservation agriculture has brought some stability and saved their crops from disaster. Some techniques taught by AT have also saved the locals money. The family has additionally decided to join a Village Savings and Loan Association, where they can use their profits to invent in more profitable equipment for farming.
