Symposium on the SDGs and their financial sustainability

The German Society for the United Nations (DGVN), the German Development Institute (DIE) and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Germany organise on 30 June/1 July a symposium entitled "Stopover Addis -–On the way to the new sustainability goals". Ahead of the "Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD)" in Addis Ababa from 13 to 16 June this conference aims at highlighting which financial and other challenges are existing and what kind of possible solutions could be there to promote the implementation of the so far negotiated set of the 17 SDG goals.

WECF will be represented on the panel by its director Sascha Gabizon in her role as one of the coordinators of the Women's Major Group (WMG). The WMG consists of about 500 organisations from around the world that are committed to the promotion of human rights and gender equality in the context of sustainable development. The aim is to provide a platform for advocacy and lobby work on women's issues and to coordinate the cooperation being able to act as one voice within the UN processes. The WMG has sustainably shaped the SDG / post 2015 agenda over the last 2 years.
