“From Pink to Prevention”: Stopping breast cancer before it starts

A new campaign is launched to getting environmental and occupational risk factors taken seriously in the breast cancer debate.

22.01.2015 |

For decades, many respected scientific bodies have proven that environment, occupation and obstacles are potential risk factors causing breast cancer.

However, individuals, organizations and institutions with the power to make or influence decisions affecting health and breast cancer incidence persistently refuse to acknowledge the role of these risk factors. Therefore, the new campaign "From Pink to Prevention" was launched, to getting the risk factors taken seriously in the breast cancer debate. By revealing the barriers to prevention, public awareness can be built to support the environment changes that those with power and position need to make happen. Click here for the media release.

Prioritized questions in the campaign are:
•    What percentage of money raised is going into ‘prevention’ (not early detection) by cancer charities, scientific bodies or industry?
•    Who makes health policy especially with regard to breast cancer?
•    Who decides what research is funded and where funding decisions are made?
