No country in the world completely protects its citizens against dangerous chemicals in products, says WECF’s executive director in Indian Magazine "The Indian Consumer".

In an article published on Indian Consumer magazine, Sascha Gabizon, WECF’s Executive Director, draws attention to the issue of hazardous chemicals present in products such as food, toys, clothing, furniture and building materials. While no country in the world has legislation that completely protects its citizens from these chemicals, her text highlights their possible impact on the Indian market specifically.

Another concerning problem is that products that are rejected in the EU (which already has a legislation considered insufficient) for being toxic are sometimes sold abroad afterwards, with India and China being part of the route.

Finally, Gabizon draws attention to the hormone-disrupting chemicals, and how they can affect pregnant women, fetuses and children. She then provides Indian readers with examples of how to avoid contamination and build a safer environment for your child at home.
