Stichting Triodos Foundation is a sister institution of Triodos Bank, that is legally separate, but organisationally related to it. Currently, the Board of Management of Stichting Triodos Foundation is made up of co-workers and one Executive Board member. It makes donations that are granted to initiatives that help Triodos Bank to deliver its sustainable goals. Similar foundations have been set up in Belgium, the UK and Spain.
The Triodos Foundations make donations to support research and development in the sectors in which Triodos Bank is active. The Foundations' aim is to stimulate both national and international initiatives that initiate social renewal, especially in the field of organic farming, development, the environment, sustainable energy, art and culture, education and health care. In all of these fields, the Foundations manage special funds.
The Triodos Foundations receive donations in different ways. They include Triodos Bank savers who can appoint one of the special funds to benefit from (part of) their interest. Direct donations to these funds are also possible.
