Project title: Fair access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation via community mobilization in Northern Tajikistan
Issues & short description:
ASDP Nau's mission statement is: "It is not correct to giva a fish to the poor, it is also not enough to hand over a fishing rod and teach them how to catch the fish, if in most of the cases they do not have access to the river".
ASDP Nau works on sustainable development and the increase of the social economic status of the population. The aim of this ELA project contemplates to provide a fair access to pure drinking water and assist in creating safe sanitary hygienic conditions in the target communities of Northern Tajikistan through:
- Increasing the awareness level of communities in the sphere of sanitation and hygiene: applying alternative approaches in community mobilisation
- Implementing a number of infrastructural projects on modifying the sanitary situation through the introduction of alternative technologies (ecological sanitation in particular)
- Disseminating of experience on applying new technologies and promotion of approaches based on community participation in solving the problems regarding sanitation and access to safe water.
